I bought this last month, since I have many other K&H products I expect it to hold up very well. I got this to replace the K&H huge plastic bowl that has supplied the outdoor cats (and the occasional raccoon) with water through the winter months. That one still works great, but I wanted stainless steel and I wanted a place to put food in addition to water. The pros: it has the same chew-proof (at least for cats) cord that my other K&H products have. It has stainless steel bowls that come out easily for washing. It keeps the contents of both bowls lukewarm - nothing freezes. The only con - since the sides of the bowls get warm when I put wet food in either one it dries out. Plus, the bowl is deeper than my cats like for wet food. For dry food it would be perfect, but since I'm no longer giving them dry food I had to find a workaround.

So- I'm keeping drinking water in the small bowl, and using the big bowl as sort of a double-boiler - putting a plate on TOP of the bowl. It's providing enough heat to keep the food from freezing, and the cats get the flat plate they prefer. The water lasts for a few days so it's not a pain to refill.

Editing this to add: It's been well below freezing here for the past couple of weeks, down to 2 degrees one night. Neither bowl has frozen. It definitely doesn't get as warm in the colder weather, so the drying up issue, well, isn't an issue. (and to a commenter - yes, I do add extra water when it's not as cold out)

I have purchased many K& H products and haven't been let down. This product is no exception. I feed 5 feral cats and live in Chicago where sub zero temps are the norm for winters here. I'm so glad someone finally created a product for keeping not only water from freezing but food. This product is GREAT!!!! Past winters as much as I tried to establish a routine feeding time for my ferals there was always 1 who came at different times. I wad so tired of throwing away wet food due to freezing. Now that I have this product my only concern will be keeping the bowls filled with wet food. Thanks K&H for another wonderful product and Thanks to Amazon for always having the best prices around.
